Create WiFi Hotspot in Windows using Command Prompt

In this post I am going to show you how to create WiFi hotspot in Windows PC without using any third-party software. This trick works in all version of Windows.


  1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
    Right Click on Left bottom and Select 'Command Prompt (Admin)'.

  2. Now Copy & Paste the following command & Hit Enter.

    netsh wlan show drivers

  3. Now check if your WiFi Card supports Hosted network or not. If your WiFi Card supports hosted network then follow next step.
  4. Copy and Paste the command below to create hosted network:

    netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=WIFI NAME key=WIFI KEY

  5. Change the highlighted keywords:
    WIFI NAME with the name of WiFi you want to give to your Hotspot &
    WIFI KEY with the Password of your hotspot.

    After changing these keywords hit Enter.

  6. Once you have successfully created your Hosted network, the next step will be to Start your hosted network. So to start your hosted network type the command below and Hit Enter.

    netsh wlan start hostednetwork

Now your hosted network will start. You can check it by searching for WiFi connections in your mobile.

Final Words:

You can share files between your PC and Mobile using WiFi, Play multi player Local WiFi games etc.
